BOARD
CHANGES
The
Ohio Board of Motor Vehicle Repair, CRB, recently enacted policies
and procedures to pursue the owners of non-compliant repair
facilities through administrative hearings and fines rather
than civil injunctions and court proceedings.
Non-compliant
repair facility owners will be given the opportunity of a hearing
before a hearing officer. These hearings will be held at the
Vern Riffe Center in Columbus. Shop owners will have the right
to hire an attorney and call their own witnesses at the hearing,
or testify on their own behalf.
If
the hearing officer finds the owner is in violation of the registration
laws, O.R.C. Section 4775.02, the CRB Board will determine what
restitution is fit for the situation. The fine schedule is listed
below.
Should
the owner wish to waive their right to a hearing, the owner
may enter into a Settlement Agreement with the Board and avoid
possible fines.
